Music

The opportunity to study Music is provided throughout the R-12 curriculum. In addition, students have the opportunity to display and extend their musical talents through various co-curricular activities:

  • An instrumental programme of individual lessons for students provided by visiting teachers

Drama

Drama is part of the Arts Area of Study for Years 6 to 12. Students in Years 10-12 perform their productions for a public audience as part of their assessment. Drama is combined with other Arts areas in the annual Junior Primary Musical and the Middle School Musical.

Mercedes College has a well developed Visual and Performing Arts Program, encompassing Drama, Music, Art and Design. Performances and exhibitions are held throughout the year and include drama productions, music recitals and concerts, musicals and the annual Visual Arts Exhibition.

Speech and Drama is available as a year long extra curricular program, with formal examinations conducted at the end of the year.
