Academic Achievement
Mercedes College 2007 graduates have again maintained a standard of academic excellence in the tradition of the College in their final SACE and IB studies. We congratulate our SACE and IB students on their fine results!
2007 STATISTICS FOR SACE & IB DIPLOMA (04/01/08)
- 30 Merit Certificates (20/20 in SACE or 7 in the IB Diploma) were achieved
- 50%of students gained a Tertiary Entrance Rank (TER) above 80
- 26% of students gained a TER of 90 or above
- 24% of students achieved a TER of 80 or above
- 16% of students achieved a TER of 70 or above
- Overall 66% of students achieved a TER above 70
Congratulations to all students on their efforts and excellent results and we wish them well in their future endeavours.
SACE Results
- Louise Gillard achieved a TER of 99.15
- 5 students achieved an A in all 5 subjects
- 7 students gained an A in 4 subjects
- 74 out of the cohort of 129 students gained an A in at least one subject
- 62% of Mercedes students gained an A or B grade compared to 54% across the State
- 10 students gained a total of 11 Merit Certificates (20/20) in the following subjects:
- Legal Studies (2), Studies of Societies (2), Physical Education (2), Design Studies (1), English Studies (1), Mathematical Applications (1), Physics (1) and Vocational studies B (1)
International Baccalaureate Diploma Results
We congratulate our Year 11 and Year 12 IB students on their excellent results achieved in the November 2007 Exam Session.
- Our sincere congratulations go to Lucy Arrowsmith, Dux of Mercedes for 2007. Lucy achieved an outstanding result of 43/45 and a TER of 99.95.
- We also congratulate Kai Peng Zheng on his outstanding result of 40/45 and a TER of 99.80
- 83% of the Year 12 IB students achieved a TER above 90
- 17 Year 11 IB students completed French B SL in 2007 and achieved outstanding results with 9 students achieving the highest grade of 7
- 18 IB Diploma students in 2007 and 17 students were awarded the Diploma
- 19 Merit Certificates were achieved overall (awarded for subject grade 7)
- Our average IB Diploma score was 35 compared with a South Australian average of 34.02 and an Australian average of 33.73. The world average for an IB score is 30.72
